Life may be like a box of chocolates but someone threw some mud balls in there too

Saints be praised!

I’ve been up since 2am today! (which is totally normal for me because I’m a weirdo 😂) But, this morning I finally finished going through the stack of files that have been laying on my desk for 2 months! 😳🤩

My desk finally looks organized and back to it’s creative station. Which is ideal for Nanowrimo being right around the corner 👌🏼

Plus! I’ve spent the last week doing some revision on things going on in my daily 9-5 muggle life, turns out my ”bossy” attitude has done some good for my team. The company is happy with them, they don’t feel the need to spy on them or be down their throats on anything.

Who doesn’t like a boss who trusts you enough to just let you work?? 🙃

Now if we could just keep this routine going without the random delays and hiccups from newbs, we might be able to finish this project with some high marks.

Maybe it’s all this fresh fall weather making people more pleasant to be around? Lol I know a few who need to get started now on their ule tide joy if they want good marks come Christmas 😂😂

But let’s not talk about that Holiday when we have more important one’s like Halloween to worry about 😉

Its Autumn!!

Seriously my favorite season EVER!!!

I’m so happy 🙃

And the things going on in my life right now, guys I couldn’t be heading in any better direction ✌🏼

My second book is so close to be released that I can already smell that new book smell 💗

My Patreon account has been re-opened thanks to the handful of people who have been showing me some love and have been wanting to know how best they can support me at this time.

Here’s the link if your interested – Spread the love

As for my third book… this story is so vivid in my head right now I’m beginning to feel like it’s already written and ready to be released to you all 😅🙌🏼

My heart is so full right now my words feel like jumbled up garbage 😂

Actively procrastinating and losing my mind :) + Publication updates

Let’s be real here, people that seem to always find loads of time to write and research their work…… SUCK BALLS!!  lol

No, no you don’t.  I suck.

I suck because I can’t seem to get my head together and focus on my writing. *insert face palm emoji here* lol

Everyone else that plans and manages their time better than I do, are worth plenty of praise. You guys are all bombshell people and are the standards I should be living up to. ❤

So, to proceed with my ” I’m mad I’m not writing, so I’m going to write a blog about how mad I am” post :’D

I’m currently 5 chapters into my next novella… and stuck on so many stupid little details…

We are 24 chapters into Stonecrest (Whoop Whoop!!) and I have all confidence we should publish the eBook before the year is out 😀 And Hopefully the paperback will follow right behind it ❤

I’m super excited to physically be lining up books for publications, I really didn’t see myself being at this point by this year. Not that I didn’t (Don’t) have high hopes for my life and writing career, I just try to be down to earth and realistic about the workloads I put on myself and didn’t think it would be a realistic goal for this year… but maybe I’m being to lenient on myself and lowering the bar a bit to much?

Maybe I can manage everything just a little better and readjust my goals and plans?

Maybe I should stop saying “Maybe” and Just do it as the Nike brand says.  Lol

I am aiming towards having my next eBook out this year and shortly after, if the publishers like it, having the paperback follow right along.  And then early/mid 2020 having my next novella published as well ❤

And now that I’ve rambled for a few moments, my brain feels empty enough I can now focus on book and work on some research.

And hopefully get to bed at a decent time frame ….

Traveling with pets

Always Call AHEAD!

I think that is the biggest piece of advice I can give you and I cannot stress it enough.

Even if the website says “Pets accepted/allowed”, it’s always safe to call ahead and verify their statements.  9/10 there are restrictions or hidden fees involved when you travel with your furry (or feathery, scally ) pets 🙂 So don’t let yourself be blindsided.

When you call to inquire to about their pet policy, always be sure to ask about breed restrictions and any hidden fees. Be specific!  Don’t shy away from asking to many questions, these are your kiddo’s, your companions, and best friends so ask even the smallest questions that come to mind.

I’ve dealt with some places that are very upfront with their pet policy’s, including breed/species restrictions and weight limits. But I’ve also dealt with the more shady sided places who won’t tell you all the fees involved with having your pet stay with them or won’t be as upfront with you about their breed/ species and weight restrictions.  And that can mean extra charges that you’re not budgeted for.

And just because the website doesn’t mention a pet policy, it does not mean they don’t have one. So again, Don’t forget to ask.

And that’s something else to be mindful of, independently owned establishments who can set (and change) their own rules at a whim.

Yes, it happens.

I’ve stayed in places that swear up and down a specific breed is not allowed and will fight you about allowing your pet to stay,  but when you walk around and look, you’ll see plenty of other owners out walking that very breed.  And they don’t always have that service pet stamp of approval.  Sometime’s they just drew the long straw when they signed in.

I have even had hotels begin to deny a service pet on grounds that they didn’t want to deal with the room cleaning that “most pets leave when you check out”…. Yup…  And boy did I have a lengthy conversation with that owner.

But not all places are out to get you or make it twice as hard for you to travel with your pets.

I’ve stayed in a few places that actually allowed a pet that they would normally deem “restricted” because they saw how obedient and well-mannered they were.   And a couple of hotels even allowed me to stay with my pet for no fee do to his smallness and lack of messy behavior. These people are the real MVP’s in my eyes.   They don’t judge a book by its cover and they allow for loopholes in their policies so they can better accommodate their guests and renters.

I wish more places would be that way and more open-minded to certain breeds and pets. Some really don’t deserve the bad reputation they have acquired.

Be sure to be polite about you inquiries

When you call up a hotel or an apartments leasing office, don’t jump down their throats the second they start steering you away from bringing your pet.  Some of the people you’re talking to are simply doing their job and following the procedures set by their employers.

While I know some places are rude from the moment they answer the phone to the time you check out, you just have to take the higher road and keep a professional tone and outlook for the sake of your pets.  Sometimes you just may be catching someone on a bad day, or they may have just spoken to someone before you who screamed and cursed them when they were denied permission to keep a loose pet snake in one of their rooms.

I’ve listened to this phone call, it happens lol

So keep it cool and collect. And remember the old phrase ” You catch more fly’s with honey than you do with vinegar“.

Be honest about your pet

The second most important thing I can stress while you look at traveling with your pets.

Don’t tell them spike is well potty trained if in fact, he messes on the floor when he’s left alone.  Or he has separation anxiety and may tear up the furniture or chew chair legs when you run out to get groceries or have dinner.

Don’t promise them that the pet stays in his cage unless supervised, when your normal is letting them have free run of the bathroom while you’re at work.

Be honest about their vaccine history.  Like taking your pet to a daycare, you want him/her to be protected from anything they may come in contact with.  So be sure to keep up to date on your vaccines , flea/tick prevention and heartworm medications.

And it doesn’t hurt ( I recommend it actually) to check out the area you will be in and talk with your Vet about any issues that may be more common in that region VS your home town.    A city pet may not need to worry about ticks as much as a country pet would. So keep that in some cases your pet may need a little extra protection.

I could go into so much more detail, but I think this a good start.

I’m all for traveling and being able to take your pets with you, I don’t know how some people can go without the comfort of a pet.? For me, its truly a challenge. And I would much rather pay a little extra or look a little harder to find the right place for me and my kiddo’s 🙂

Life things- Mini update

I take so many random and strange photos when I travel 😊

Honestly, most of the time I’m only taking the pictures to capture the feeling I had in that moment.

Memories are magical

So in the last few weeks I’ve found a screw in my tire (🤔 to convenient), I’ve had a girls trip to Mississippi to pick up my sister

We hit a few choice spots when we headed back ✌🏼

We also ended up spending the night in Atlanta due to finding a bubble in one of my other tires ( tires and me have no damn luck 🤦🏻‍♀️)… it was an irritating delay in our plans but we made the most of it and ended up having a great day while we waited for a spare 😊

And after all that, I spent an entire weekend revising and editing a few pieces I’ve been procrastinating on.

It feels so damn good to sit down and write lately. And I mean good.

I feel like my voice changes from time to time, but for the most part, it stands true to who I am and what I’m trying to share with the world.

I’m so thankful for you guys who listen to me and share your own stories with me 😊 It’s amazing to be in such an inspiring community.

Keep the lights on your muse 💋
