The great Kindle mishap

Well, it’s finally working!!

Thanks to my brother getting bored and deciding to tinker with it ☺️

He managed to get it into a full reboot mode and then I just needed to set it back up and download all my books again.

Now I know whenever I’m having issues with an electronic device, just leave it somewhere my brother will see it and wait for him to get bored πŸ˜‚

So now I can finally sit down and get started on The Dark Web Murders πŸ•·

Now on for some tea, a re-read over my current 15,000-word project and packing for this weekend 😊

I’m so happy with the things going on in my life right now. Certain aspects are nipping my heels and causing more stress than I care to deal with, but I’m use to the battle. It’s part of life.

Happy reading everyone!

The reason why I prefer Real books over digital

This, this picture right here sums up my entire reason for being annoyed and making this blog post 😭

This darn Kindle has been on the fritz since last week!

I can’t get it to do anything except freeze on the start up screen πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I hate ebooks. I really do.

I mean, I enjoy them when it comes to packing up and moving around, which I do a lot of. But I can’t and never will get over the enjoyment of browsing a bookstore and walking out with a heavy stack of brand new reads 😊

But this! Oh My God!

I bought my first ebook in months and can’t even begin to take a look at.

I know I could read it on my phone, but damn, aren’t we on the phone enough these days? Besides, I BOUGHT A KINDLE for that very reason! 😫

The frustration is real….

Life may be like a box of chocolates but someone threw some mud balls in there too

Saints be praised!

I’ve been up since 2am today! (which is totally normal for me because I’m a weirdo πŸ˜‚) But, this morning I finally finished going through the stack of files that have been laying on my desk for 2 months! 😳🀩

My desk finally looks organized and back to it’s creative station. Which is ideal for Nanowrimo being right around the corner πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Plus! I’ve spent the last week doing some revision on things going on in my daily 9-5 muggle life, turns out my ”bossy” attitude has done some good for my team. The company is happy with them, they don’t feel the need to spy on them or be down their throats on anything.

Who doesn’t like a boss who trusts you enough to just let you work?? πŸ™ƒ

Now if we could just keep this routine going without the random delays and hiccups from newbs, we might be able to finish this project with some high marks.

Maybe it’s all this fresh fall weather making people more pleasant to be around? Lol I know a few who need to get started now on their ule tide joy if they want good marks come Christmas πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But let’s not talk about that Holiday when we have more important one’s like Halloween to worry about πŸ˜‰

What am I doing wrong??

Why does it seem like every writer out there has nothing but time and ample battery life to spend their days out in the world focusing on their craft??

How on earth do you support yourself by spending all day in a coffee shop and posting ascetically pleasing photos on Instagram? 😭

Let me in on this secret!

I mean, I’m a workaholic. I love keeping busy and feeling productive throughout my day.

But darn it. There are so many days I would love to be able to just spend the afternoon working on my manuscripts, without worrying about going over my lunch break or feeling like I was on a deadline.

Not to mention having ample battery life to utilise my laptop all day πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I’ve really got to do some research on a good battery pack for my little silver friend. Any recommendations would be appreciated πŸ™ƒ

Its Autumn!!

Seriously my favorite season EVER!!!

I’m so happy πŸ™ƒ

And the things going on in my life right now, guys I couldn’t be heading in any better direction ✌🏼

My second book is so close to be released that I can already smell that new book smell πŸ’—

My Patreon account has been re-opened thanks to the handful of people who have been showing me some love and have been wanting to know how best they can support me at this time.

Here’s the link if your interested – Spread the love

As for my third book… this story is so vivid in my head right now I’m beginning to feel like it’s already written and ready to be released to you all πŸ˜…πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

My heart is so full right now my words feel like jumbled up garbage πŸ˜‚

Life things- Mini update

I take so many random and strange photos when I travel 😊

Honestly, most of the time I’m only taking the pictures to capture the feeling I had in that moment.

Memories are magical

So in the last few weeks I’ve found a screw in my tire (πŸ€” to convenient), I’ve had a girls trip to Mississippi to pick up my sister

We hit a few choice spots when we headed back ✌🏼

We also ended up spending the night in Atlanta due to finding a bubble in one of my other tires ( tires and me have no damn luck πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ)… it was an irritating delay in our plans but we made the most of it and ended up having a great day while we waited for a spare 😊

And after all that, I spent an entire weekend revising and editing a few pieces I’ve been procrastinating on.

It feels so damn good to sit down and write lately. And I mean good.

I feel like my voice changes from time to time, but for the most part, it stands true to who I am and what I’m trying to share with the world.

I’m so thankful for you guys who listen to me and share your own stories with me 😊 It’s amazing to be in such an inspiring community.

Keep the lights on your muse πŸ’‹

Bruiser, a newspaper man?

I think Bruiser has shown me just another reason why he was meant to be in my life. 😊

Not only does he have a weird habit of sitting on my shoulders like a parrot (or cat if you know my kiddos at home lol), but he also spent all day Sunday watching me write and edit a few articles, and sat on my lap watching a slew of newspaper based movies.

Most likely he just found the noises curious, but I can pretend he’s a writer at heart and thinking about the thrill of chasing down a good story and beating deadlines. Lol πŸ˜…

I feel Bruiser and I are starting over at the beginning. Potty training is a pain in the arse…. females are so much easier to train. Hands down.

And he’s proving to me that he has full intent of finding every loop hole possible to get around following the basic rules of potty training and behavior. My puppy the toddler ladies and gentleman πŸ˜…

We’ll get the hang of it.

Hopefully sooner than later πŸ™πŸΌ

Feel free to drop your puppy training tips below. Or any funny stories you have about living with your pets 😊

I’m going to start separating my posts a little bit, to make them easier to find since my post topics are so wide.

Be on the look out for a new format and a lot more helpful tips and information on this site πŸ˜‰

Bruiser Woods

I figured it was about time I give my little traveling companion a proper debut πŸ’•

This little burst of energy is a 4lb chihuahua that joined my team right before I left SC and headed to NC for work 😊

He’s only 3(ish) months old, travels like a champ, and is still perfecting the potty pad training.

Be very prepared for lots of pictures πŸ’•πŸ˜Š

I think he makes a great comfort pup for those uncomfortable meetings on performance and punch list items πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I can’t Blog today! πŸ˜‚

How on earth does one manage to write semi coherent things for people to read everyday?

I can journal everyday, that’s no problem at all. But actually writing something worth while and worth taking up someone’s time to read?.. That’s a different story.

Β What do people even want to read? Do that many people even read lifestyle blogs anymore, ones that aren’t about making millions from home and quitting your job to be a full-time fashion/food lover/travel blogger?

Maybe I’ve watched to manyΒ Awkward episodesΒ and I am expecting to much from my generation these days?Β  Β Lol πŸ˜‚

Originally I started blogging (way back a few platforms ago) as a way to practice and hone my writing skills, share the books I was enjoying at the time and meet others who shared the same interests.

Blogging seemed the best platform since MySpace had ended, Facebook was (and still is) boring and Twitter just didn’t have enough characters. Lol

The downside to blogging though is trying to come up with things to write about everyday. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ§

How do you do it?

How does one come up with worth while content and stories to share on a daily or semi daily bases?

And do they even need to seem like “worth while stories” to you or do you just wing it and hope someone enjoys it?

I feel like I bounce between pure Rambles and Life updates … and if someone finds it worth while, then yeah me! πŸ˜„ lol

Otherwise the art of actually writing to bringing in clients/ followers via blogging just isn’t a skill I’ve mastered … yet πŸ˜‰

This is what words look like? lol…

Same old, same old with me.

I’ve been working a lot and not spending as much time as I need to be spending on my writing or my current TBR pile… I’m afraid I’ll not reach the end of these books anytime soon…

I’m really hoping to spend this weekend working on a few revisions and some edits for a new project of mine.Β  Β  Β  I’m excited to see this one through to the end. It’s only one of a few stories I’ve come up with that I honestly have no idea what the ending will be like, so It’s bringing up a few new challenges and struggles for me.

I’ve been tinkering with the idea (and doing some light research) on finding a literary agent for my books…Β  Not sure what will come of this just yet, but it’s an idea that has come to mind a few times and I feel it’s worth the energy to look into a bit more.

On the TBR pile note: I’ve stacked up a good …12…16… I honestly lost count lolΒ  Β  Β  Β

But! I’m determined to finish at least one before the month is over!Β  So I need to get cracking on it!

My reading pace has slowed way down since this time last year…ugh… I need to work on bringing it back up to snuff

Anyway! There’s my mini life update πŸ™‚Β
